RoundUp Contains Glyphosate

Glyphosate is a chemical and carcinogen. The World Health Organization stated their findings in 2015. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (a division of WHO) published a warning that RoundUp was dangerous. California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment also found glyphosate causes cancer.

Court Cases Against RoundUp

In 2018, a case against RoundUp’s parent company, Monsanto, was successful. The case established a connection between RoundUp and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In Dewayne Johnson vs. Monsanto, a jury ordered RoundUp to pay $289 million in damages to Mr. Johnson. Meanwhile, Monsanto is appealing the decision.

RoundUp Denies Product Causes Cancer

Scientists working for Monsanto knew of the cancer risk from using RoundUp. As far back as the 1970s RoundUp scientists were aware glyphosate was a carcinogen. But, the company hid this evidence and continued to produce RoundUp. This intentionally put unknowing people at risk.
Of course, Monsanto denies their product is causing cancer. But, Monsanto has a long history of producing dangerous chemicals and denying health hazards. In the 1930s Monsanto knew it’s PCBs were dangerous but continued to sell them all over the world until 1977. PCBs were banned in the US in 1978.
I don’t trust Monsanto to do the right thing. Additionally, history shows the company does not do the right thing. This company puts profits ahead of health and safety. Monsanto and RoundUp knowingly put people’s health at risk. Now, we want to hold them accountable for hurting people.
